Hi there.  I'm a new member of AHA.  I signed up at GABF.  I'm so new that I have not gotten my card, yet 

Sort of just wanted to say "Howdy" and it looks like this is the thread in which to do it.

I've been brewing for about a year and 9 months when my sister got me a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas.  Been hooked ever since. 

I will do my 55th batch this weekend ... it will be my 5th all-grain batch.  Although I rarely use Mr. Beer ingredients, I still use the Mr. Beer fermenters, so those are all small batches.  I need to upgrade sometime to something bigger.  I just have not gotten around to it.

Anyway ... as I said, I just wanted to introduce myself a little bit.  Not sure how active I'll be on the forum.  I guess we'll see.

I suspected they were screwed up!  Guess I better revisit it, cause I don't wanna have to move!  Although, since they represent position as referenced to Jeff, maybe plugging them directly into Google won't work unless you start by making him the center of the universe.  which, of course, he is!

Well, since I've been posting all weekend, I guess I should say hi.

Anyway, I learned to brew mead about 16 years ago. (Although I've been kinda lazy about that the last few years and need to restock now) I first tasted mead and homebrew at an event called "The Great Pennsic War" hosted by The Society for Creative Anachronism and was instantly hooked. I started my 1st batch of mead about 3 or 4 weeks later. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Once I become suitably reemployed, I'd like to try my hand at a beer or 3, So I'll likely be pestering for advice about that in the not too distant future. BTW, if any of you are from anywhere Butler, PA and would like some apples or pears, drop me a line and I'll let you know when they're ripe. (2 bosc and 2 bartlett pear trees and 2 red and 2 gold delicious apple trees) What's left of the blueberries are mine though. (Damn robins robbed me blind this year.)
