Started in the garage. We had a party and my wife noticed that all the men were hanging out in the garage. For our next party, we moved the kegerator inside and put it in the laundry room. I never moved it back to the garage. I think I told her it was really heavy (it had wheels on it). This return trip was forgotten for long enough that it became part of the laundry room. There it stayed for nearly 6 years.
Two years ago, my wife bought a new washer and dryer of the front loading variety. Uh oh. The doors wouldn't open because the kegerator was in the way. But another problem presented itself. They were too tall for the cabinets that were above the old washer and dryer. I shrug and suggest she call the cabinet guy and add "and tell him I want to talk to him about putting a long built-in buffet in the dining room that juts out a little bit near the wall so I can put a kegerator under there.
She didn't seem too dismissive of this idea.
The cabinet guy raised the old cabinets over the washer and dryer for free.
