Another attempt at a hefeweissen, my 4th try. Wasn't happy with the last ones. Also my first stab at doing step mash, not single infusion!

This was holiday party weekend for us, no time for brewing.

Served 10 gallons of the Seamus Stout at the neighbor's last night.  Gone.

Attempted to brew a double batch of a THA clone. Fail. FAIL FAIL FAIL. Well sorta.

Neighbor asked me to brew some beer for him for his NYE party, and since I hadn't brewed since September, figured it would be a good idea. I tried to make a homemade stirplate, spent about half the afternoon on Saturday trying to get the thing to work, but it didn't. I ordered a real one from Hanna instruments.

Got my brand new silicon tubing and medical-grade plastic quick disconnects set up, I love those things. Even got to use the new MaltMill. Grist was way too fine, I didn't think too much of it because the husk was intact, but during mash out I could barely break up the stuff on the bottom, stuck sparge. Was almost like concrete. Not happy. Had to have a double batch worth of grain to make a single batch, but at the very least I have a single batch ready.

I brewed two 6gal batches of blak IPA, then last night I bottled three x 3gal batches.  The bottling went well because I didn't have to clean up after each batch.  I'm about out of bottles of every variety, and four of my five kegs are full.  Fortunately I scored four more kegs recently, just have to go pick them up.

I get to do the brewery tours at the local brewpub that I work at this Saturday and then brewing a stout next Monday at home. A new stout recipe at the same pub on Wed will be brewed and then later in the week, either a Belgium Saison or an American IPA for the summer.  Going to be my first double brew week.

tapped my 8 day ordinary at the club holiday party. finally bottled by rum barrel aged barley wine after 5 weeks in the barrel. I was a little worried it would be over done as it was f***ing awesome after three weeks. It's still f***ing awesome. boozy and just a bit oakey. In bottles (man I really like kegging) and made it to bed just a bit after 1 AM.

Working...again.  12-16 hours every day but Christmas til the first of the year.  I have 3 batches in fermenters and I'm hoping I can find the time to at least deal with them.

I thought I had it bad (I've worked 7 days a week for the past few weeks)!  I won't get to brew this weekend, but I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that I'll be able to take the weekend off over New Years.  If that works out, I'll brew a BoPils.
