Down here at 19⁰ north lattitude the sunset is at around 5:45 for winter solstice and 7:10 for the summer solstice (we don't do daylight savings time here). That's at sea level. You can gain a few extra minutes by heading up to the summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. They are almost 14,000 feet high. (thats 4267m for you metric types)
Shortest day 10:56:34
Longest day 13:19:21
You know that the earliest sunrises and latest sunsets (or visa versa) don't happen on the solstices, yah?
According to the Mayan calendar we have started our last orbit.
