Yay for the Droid.
« on: January 26, 2010, 07:57:11 pm »
Got a new Droid Eris today. I downloaded an app that lets me scan a bar code on a bottle of beer, using the camera lense. The phone will then give me a description of the beer, IBU, SRM, etc, and tell a little about the brewer. It also tells me what food to pair the beer with. Is that totally unnecessary on a phone or what?  I LOVE it!!!!

Yeah, i had a thread about that a few days ago, the BeerCloud app.  I love it also.  I guess that iPhone folks are salty that the barcode reader doesn't work on their phones!

Have you downloaded any of the brewing app yet?  I haven't, just becuase they cost $$ and I'm not really comfortable putting my credit card info into my cell phone....

There is barcode app on iPhone.
Kind a worthless app if you ask me but it was there.

It's pretty sweet when you're are the store looking at buying something, scan the barcode, and realize you can get that item for $20 less somewhere else.

Drive 20 miles, spend 30 min and save $0.99.
Let me think about it...

Do you really think that anyone was talking about driving 20 miles to save $.99?  My dogs are smarter than that.
