Hey, I just saw this sub forum, and saw a lot of you folks like to smoke food as well!

Well I have a addiction to smoking as well as brewing!

Guess I have some issues, don't even get me started on my grills and pizza ovens!

Could you tell me the brand of the silver smoker in your garage  (Cookshack?).  Also, the one immediately below it, and finally, the last one.  They all look familiar, but I can't be sure.

So, give us your opinion on pellets versus wood burners!  Thanks.

First one is a cookshack FEC100
Second is a Midnight smoker by meyer metal works in  KS (stick burner)
Third is a Pitmaker Vault.

Here is the temp graph from the last cook on the pitmaker (last one on the bottom), this smoker has a plate steel (1/4") shell, with 2"of  high temp insulation. With ambient temps in the 30's this smoker went about 15hrs on 6lbs of charcoal, with tons to spare.

Outstanding.  One of the gripes I hear about stick burners is that the cook can't get much sleep during a long cook.  I guess we can lay that to rest. 

Is this pit's design similar to the Stumps Smoker with the shoot that you pour your charcoal down?  Any issues with lump charcoal creating a bridge in the shoot?

Its more like a Spicewine, having a removable charcoal pan. Pan plump full will probably hold 12lbs of charcoal (more briquettes, less lump), and smoke easily for a few days straight. I have gone as long as 32hrs, but ran out of stuff to cook!
