Yeah, its an offense to consume any alcohol on board, that's not provided by the airline.  Although I find the $7/drink more offensive!

Since it's illegal to make your own, I would assume that transporting it via airline would also be illegal.

Yep... and if you have more than seven days worth of food stockpiled... you can be detained and questioned as a terrorist, oh and you don't get a lawyer either.  Hmmm.... your own whiskey on a plane is a cakewalk, go ahead, live on the wild side... I dare ya.

The stewardess was pretty cool about it. She gave me a pretty stern lecture, the a minute later came over and asked me what I was drinking. TOld her whiskey, and braced myself for an air marshal to come over and put me in a choke hold. But, she came back, and slipped me two of those little 7$ bottle of Jack Daniels.

FWIW "Stewardess" is a bit of an insult these days.  The prefered title is flight attendant.
