AHA and Cups
« on: March 07, 2011, 05:04:38 am »
It's a shame the AHA doesn't have a means in place to get a discount for homebrew competitions to get standardized cups. We use Comet/Sweetheart T7T and have an online supplier which offers the best price we have found, but it still is not inexpensive.

I know at one time the AHA had medals available, why not cups?

That is a good idea.  Do you think that maybe it would be more under the purview of the BJCP?

Nahh, the BJCP doesn't purchase cups already and the AHA does. There should be power in that...

I'll try to remember to mention it on our GC call tomorrow.

If you don't mind, let us know what everyone has to say.

I also think this would be a good idea.

We used the corn starch cups at a couple of recent sessions and found them to work well, plus they are recyclable.  I know that I'd heard of a problem with head retention before, but we had no issues with that.
Perhaps if the order is big enough they would become less expensive.

Really? $85 per case, that is the best the AHA can do?

Webrestaurant is $30 + shipping for plain without a logo so something is wrong with this picture...
