I also got to try a Bud Light Platinum ::)  It's as good as you'd expect.

More booze, more corn, and a classy blue bottle.  What more could you ask for?  ;D

I still like it.  I choose the Ruthless as my super bowl beer to take to the neighbors, good stuff.

Yeah...I like the SNRR too. Decent effort from SN.

...as far as "good as you'd expect" = NASTY.  ;)

bud and bud light are both rice based.

I was talking with a friend about beer.   He was telling me that he loves beer, but it made him feel allergic like the way sake makes him feel, so he doesn't drink beer any more. I asked what beer he used to drink.  He listed off the usual canoe beer suspects, saying Bud was his favorite.  I bought him a Kona Lavaman and asked him to try it.  He did, loved it and had no bad reaction.  .

I asked him if he is allergic to rice.  He said yes, that's why he gave up sake.  I directed his attention to the Bud label (on a mirror behind the bar) which states, "Brewed by our original process with the choicest hops, rice and best barley malt."

Now he is back to being a happy beer drinker, drinking only all malt beers.

Yep, it's on the grocery store shelves here in Northern VA.

Now that you see the recipe, you should go make it as written.  Don' t change a thing the first time around.  Really really good beer.

I've seen it here in NJ.  In fact I picked up a bottle last night.  Was decent.  I guess I was expecting more Rye.  I enjoyed the hopiness though.  I'd drink it again.

I enjoyed the 6 pack I got a while back but now I am grumpy. The coop where I shop said they will not be getting the 2012 bigfoot till Ruthless is gone. I want my bigfoot!

This was my impression as well. Really was hoping for more rye character.  I liked it, but not as much as I liked Denny's WSIPA. The Amarillo in the latter were really nice.

Amarillo?  Do you mean Columbus?

I'm sorry Denny, my bad. I  forgot that I changed the hop bill slightly when I used your recipe for a 10 gallon batch.
I subbed .5 oz of Amarillo for an equal portion of the 60 min. Columbus addition.
Moved the Mt. Hood 3 oz. steep to 15 min.
Added a 1.5 oz. Amarillo steep

oh no worries about that. If I see it elsewhere I will grab it. called bevmo and they didn't have it in the system yet either. gonna swing by the nugget and check there as well. It'll get there eventually anyway. worst case scenario I call my friend in Chico and they grab some for me.
