If I get a reply, I was going to suggest that they change that to exactly what you suggest Tom.  I think they could be missing out on a real opportunity if people just walk away when they see that.  Now, will they ship to Canada...?

It could also be "not for homebrewes" do to them not selling singles(have not looked at the site) or they are a wholesaler and require you to have an ein to purchase from them. It makes their life easier but they lose out on business.

It is a shipping cost that will kill the deal. They ship freight only and you pay for one skid/pallet. For me one pallletshippi g was $300+. They are in CA.

I do like the kegs. You clean Sankey kegs with keg washer.

Out of curiosity, how much were the kegs themselves?  If cheap enough, it may be something worth looking into for some homebrew shops.

I figured dispensing a sanke keg filled with homebrew would be no problem. Cleaning and filling it is the issue - seems like it requires specialized equipment.

I might be interested in some slim (tall) 1/4 kegs (30L).  I ferment in stainless 1/4 kegs and they work great.  I would love to have some more and they're a heck of a lot lighter.  They are the same height as a corny, just a little wider.  I treat them just like a carboy with a carboy cap and everything.  It would be cooler to use a Sanke tap cut-off on the bottom, I just haven't gotten "a round tuit".
Anyone know about polypropylene and its effects with brewing?  I wouldn't think it would be a problem if you can store beer in them.

Man, they would kill the market if they could make corny style kegs at that price. Their new price for 1/6B kegs is competetive with the prices for used ball lock kegs now.

Stainless pin-lock corny - 5 gallon, 22 or 23" tall, 9" wide

i have a sump pump I use to clean kegs and carboys now, wouldn't you just have to hook a sanke fitting on the end and pump the pbw in and let it drain from the gas fitting?  Or am I missing something?  It won't be as slick as a commercial one and it might take a while to clean/rinse/sanitize, but on a homebrew scale it might not be a big deal.

i would think that would be right, i am not sure if you have to take the sankey valve out or not.  i am afraid of spending 400 bucks to experiment.  man it is tempting though, because i have really been looking for small kegging options. maybe i could get 5 and broker out a few through the lhbs.
