My Otter Creek Copper Ale clone kit should be sitting my front steps at home as we speak. Hopefully I can brew my first beer on Monday  ;D

Yeah, sounds gross.  I had a boiler maker with Midwest's Scottish ale once which had a slight smokey/peat flavor and aroma.  Not sure what kind of whiskey is was, but since I don't really like whiskey it was gross.

It looks like a rainy day in Charlotte, tomorrow.  I'm brewing my first attempt at a Timothy Taylor Landlord clone.  97% Simpsons Golden Promise with a touch of crystal and a tiny amount of black malt for color.  My Wyeast 1469 Yorkshire Square starter is ready (strange yeast, that one, the krausen is like meringue).  This will be a first time with Golden Promise and the 1469.   Considering I've never tasted the TT Landlord before, I predict it will be a spot on clone!

I'll just be cleaning a few kegs this weekend, so that by tuesday I can move a lacto-soured-then-boiled oud bruin/old ale (Michael Tonsmeire's recipe) from primary onto oak in secondary, then use ye old ferment chamber to cold crash Mashweasel's Leetle Kilter 70 (well, 80) shilling Scottish Ale prior to kegging it.  Both of these ales were brewed with Golden Promise as the base malt.  And I just ordered the last needed ingredients to do a Citra Cascade Amarillo IPA, hopefully next weekend.

It's a beautiful day here, sunny with temps in the 70's, and I'm 40 minutes into the boil of a Milk Stout.
It seems too quiet around here.  Usually I have beer to rack or beer to keg or stuff to clean or bottle or something, but not today.  Just enjoying a relaxing afternoon.

Friday I'll be brewing an extract American IPA with specialty grains, my second batch.  Bottling my first batch tomorrow!  (sierra nevada celebration clone).
