Well, I think we all know how my equipment will be sanitized from now on.  ;D

That's one way to get the job done. What did you use...isopropyl?

:), That is not me.... I have burned off eyelashes and eyebrows way too many times in the past.

I just encountered it on the interweb, and found it interesting.

Hopefully the Weeze will report back. ;D  I bet it sounds cool at the end.

A few ounces of Everclear might do that.  You need something as close to 100% alcohol as you can reasonably get, though.  (Ethanol or isopropanol should work, isopropanol's probably cheaper for tax reasons.)  As opposed to alcohol sterilizing without flame, where 70% is the ideal strength.

I get back home to Idaho Saturday, and will begin experimentation. My first thought is some mix of gunpower andgasoline. Will post findings Sunday.

I wonder if denatured alcohol would work?  Hmmm.  Pretty much ethanol by any other name with a few more toxic additives in it.

I don't think I want to risk a carboy, much less my legs, arm or an y of my epidermis really, to testing it out though.

Let us know how it goes Weaze.

It's probably illogical, but I don't think I'd want denatured alcohol anywhere near my beerware.  Which seems irrational on closer observation, given that it probably would burn off completely.

Even after that, I'm not sure I'd trust the match to be sanitary.

I'd never use denature alcohol to try and sanitize anything either.  I was just thinking about what I had on the chemical shelf in the shop.   :D

The way my luck goes it would explode and give my wife another "told you so" moment.  Once I could hear again and the stitches were all in.
