NHC Hotel Room Booking Issues?
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:28:49 pm »
Anyone else having problems with the hotel not showing rooms if you try to book thru the NHC site?  Or are rooms already booked full?

Cheers,

Timmy

I don't see any rooms with two beds still available, but ones with 1 king bed still work fine.

good luck--

No rooms left at either hotel.  Looks like I'll be going to Boy Scout summer camp after all.  I always have a room there. (I own the 20' x 20' pipe tent)

There were some issues earlier today, I don't know if its still happening.  Try calling the hotel.

I booked my room yesterday at 12:30pm EST. There were plenty of rooms at that time. This is very strange.

I checked a bit on my own

Individual nights are available, a block of Wed Night, departing Sunday didn't show.
the AHA can do a better dive than I can and they will be aware once MT time starts working.

The Hyatt has rooms for Thursday through Sunday.  From what they have told us, they have sold out on Tuesday and Wednesday (there's another group at the hotel before ours, which is why rooms are tight on those nights).  If you have issues booking with the online reservation system, I recommend calling the Hyatt: 425-462-1234.

We've got an overflow block at the Westin Bellevue, which is attached to the Hyatt via sky bridge, and so is very convenient.  When we got the reservation code up last night, it wasn't allowing rooms booked before Wednesday June 20 and presumably after Saturday the 23th.  We've asked them to add "shoulder dates" at the group rate so those coming in early or leaving later can get rooms at the group rate.

We'll be adding additional overflow rooms at nearby hotels as needed.

The hotels and registration is filling up faster than we anticipated.

The Hyatt only has rooms for Thur - Sat.
No telling what the Westin has.  I spent 20 minutes being transfered back and forth between desks and was finally parked on someone's voice mail. When I tried to leave a call back message I was disconnected.  Pretty discouraging.

I really want to take the Hop Union tour.  In that case I need to check in on Monday.  I haven't given up yet, but I'm thinking maybe the universe is trying to tell me to stay home.

There's no guarantee but you could try the Starwood Hotels central reservations number for Westin, 1-800-937-8461.  They should have group codes loaded up to Central ( at least they did when I worked for Starwood ).  Worth a shot but if the hotel has closed the date to central res, it won't help you.  Or try the hotel again.  Good luck.

Hoo rah!  Finally got it figured out.  Had to learn how to work the system.  I'm in the Hyatt Monday to Sunday.

Unfortunately, the way I had to book it I'll be changing rooms twice in three days, but I bet I can get them to keep me in the same room all 6 nights if I ask nicely.

Now I just need to resolve my log in issues so I can register before the door slams shut.

BTW Tom, may I park my canoe at your dock?    :D

You go through the locks,  past Salmon Bay, and head to Lake Union.  Stick to the left past Gasworks Park, past Ivar's, and under the I5 bridge.  Don't go under the University Bridge in to Portage Bay, just pull up on the North side at the docks.  We'll carry it from there to my office, get pizza and beers at Northlake Tavern, then take the bus to the conference. ;D

The people who live in Seattle have never seen sunshine.  It might scare them.   :D
