Definitely contraband Mic.  Send me one or I'll report you!

Well, ok, not really contraband depending on how it got into the state.

Thanks for the information on that Tom.

Your reply implies that Heretic isn't posted in WA...right?

That's my impression, otherwise they'd be sending their beer here for consumption.  I could be wrong though.

They've been in touch and I gave them the facts as I know them.  We'll see what happens.

I want to try his beers very badly. As it is I have no hope for seeing any of them in Texas. For goodness sake I've never even tasted Pliny! :-[

I think Heretic will be pouring at NHC...did you get a ticket?

You're mean...

I bought a case from BeerJobber.com and they delivered it to my door in the Hill country. Seven gone five remaining.

Tom...your initial thought was right.  :(

Here's the response from Heretic:

Ron,

Sadly it looks like local laws are not going to allow Heretic to pour at NHC this year. I'm sorely disappointed.

Yeah, it's unfortunate but we're going to see what we can work out.  The WA laws are a PITA, believe me! :-\

+1 on our laws being a PITA

Maybe JZ could just fill up a few Cornys, and serve them at the BN booth on club night???????

The main problem for Heretic (or any brewery) is that they need to be posted in WA - if they can't legally bring the beer to WA then they can't serve it.
How does this work for GABF?
Just wondering.

I'm guessing the beer laws in CO are much more festival friendly than those in WA.  It's a state thing.

Yes, exactly.  Our laws are messed up, we had to get the law changed just to even hold the conference with homebrew.

Here's a picture of me with the governor when we got that bill passed :)  It never would have happened without the other two guys though.  Great people and brewers, they help get things done!

As a funny (to me) aside, the governor didn't know that before this bill when someone in her office brought her homemade alcohol they were breaking the law.
