Bentonite Source?
« on: February 03, 2010, 04:10:07 pm »
Does anyone know where the bentonite used to clear wine comes from?  Is it a specific grade or is it really the same clay they use in kitty litter? ???
Beer...Now there's a temporary solution!

I think there are different types of bentonite; sodium, potassium and calcium. I think the food grade wine clarifier is potassium bentonite.

I would think twice about using kitty litter as a clarifier!  ;D  If you do; you might want to get fresh unscented kitty litter! Just kidding! ;)
