I think spelling is important, but sometimes my finger's go faster than my brain. ;)

I am taking a break from reviewing the transcipts of a deposition I gave.

I remember the whole deposition very well (all six hours).  It is really intersting to see how often my thoughts out-paced my words.  I thought I was a better speaker than that.

Either that, or the court reporter really sucks...   :D

I'm sorry you had to be part of a six-hour deposition!  That blows.  Was it videotaped?  Those are the worst.  You have to really remember not to pick your nose.   :P

It was a court reporter and a deposing attorney who thought she could make me contradict myself by asking the same questions eight different ways, every other hour.  It was amusing at first, then it just became boring.  However, at my expert witness hourly rate, I was quite willing to say the same things over and over for as long as she wanted to drag it out.

If my wife and I get divorced it will be over this irritating habit of hers.  Once I suggested that if she just tells me the answer she's looking for I can repeat it back to her and save us both a lot of time and anguish-she was not amused.
I had to sit through a series of depositions a couple of years ago, 5 hours for mine and then 2 or 3 more days of sitting through everybody else's so I could assist our lawyers.  Luckily the reporter was very good looking and friendly, and even the opposition lawyer was a very decent guy who realized too late he had fallen for a con man's heaping stinking plate of feces.

I get annoyed at things like using 'there' in place of 'their' or saying 'a email' instead of 'an email', but that's all grammar stuff and not so much to do with spelling.

So basically you are saying your point is mute  ;D
;D I see what you did their. ;D
Funny! Very amusing!

Actually what bothers me more is the overuse of acronyms these days.  I've actually heard someone say, "For your FYI".  I just wanna scream.

I was behind someone at quiznos one day when they ordered the french dip... or whatever they call that sandwhich... and the cashier asked 'Do you want that with au jous?"

Haha, french dips wouldn't be french dips without au jous!  Maybe that's why he's working at Quiznos...

In Des Moines you hear kids and parents alike say "CYC Camp" all the time.  Even my kids make fun of the fact that that makes it Catholic Youth Camp Camp.

How about a TLA for the three letter acronym?

I'll stop!

Eye halve all ways thawt spellin wuz ovurraided.

Where the heck are we going?  And what's with this hand basket?
