I think spelling is important, but sometimes my finger's go faster than my brain.
I am taking a break from reviewing the transcipts of a deposition I gave.
I remember the whole deposition very well (all six hours). It is really intersting to see how often my thoughts out-paced my words. I thought I was a better speaker than that.
Either that, or the court reporter really sucks...
I'm sorry you had to be part of a six-hour deposition! That blows. Was it videotaped? Those are the worst. You have to really remember not to pick your nose.

If my wife and I get divorced it will be over this irritating habit of hers. Once I suggested that if she just tells me the answer she's looking for I can repeat it back to her and save us both a lot of time and anguish-she was not amused.
I had to sit through a series of depositions a couple of years ago, 5 hours for mine and then 2 or 3 more days of sitting through everybody else's so I could assist our lawyers. Luckily the reporter was very good looking and friendly, and even the opposition lawyer was a very decent guy who realized too late he had fallen for a con man's heaping stinking plate of feces.
