Need an orange mead recipe
« on: February 26, 2012, 02:02:21 pm »
I have a bunch of sweet and tart oranges still on the tree (in so cal) that I would like to take advantage of.  I have 12 lbs of orange blossom honey.  I am a newbie.

(I've made two meads so far--both Ken Schramm recipes--Fall Bounty Cyser--8 mo old--and Peach-Ginger---5 mo old--and both are still in secondary.)

Any suggestions for me?

Ferment out the mead.  Add the OJ when the ferment is complete.  Try a bit of orange essential oil in the finished mead to kick it up a notch.
