Tornado hit my son's school

Pretty scary, I was listening on the radio as his school was hit. Had a pretty serious prayer. Lots of damage, especially around the school but the kids were all right.

Well damn.  That's terrifying.

My mom's old school in Springfield, MA was destroyed last year in the freak MA tornado event.

Wow. Do they still do tornado drills?

Thankfully the kids are ok!

From miles off, tornados are awe inspiring. When they hit your sons school, not so much. Glad he's safe. Been a pretty trippy winter. This is March 2nd. We should not be dealing with this yet.

I was following the weather warnings and saw Huntsville on the weather radar map.  My prayers were with you and yours Keith.  Thank God the kids are OK!

I'm glad to hear your kids are okay Keith.  The buildings can be rebuilt.

Encourage them to talk about it if they can.  They will be less scared of it if they can talk it out.

Thanks for all the comments and concerns, folks. The building only sustained minor damage. A 100+ year beautiful old farm house across the road was completely destroyed. It is a miracle and a testament to modern construction that the building didn't get more damage.

It was pretty rough sitting in my car listening to the radio knowing that the tornado was veering down right where my kid was. Talk about feeling helpless. He is totally alright though, physically and emotionally.
