I was accidentally sent an extra 6 ounces this year.  Whole flower, American, and I think around 8%.
I rarely use this hop, mainly in a Baltic and snpa.

Just wondering what folks like to use the Perle for?
Anybody mess around with it as a late addition? 
Good hops to blend with...C hops?  Goldings?

I was thinking about using them to bitter an American Brown, and perhaps again late.  Not sure.

I think this is a clone of a German noble hop, (Hallertauer?) with a very little citrusy spiciness.  I've used it in German Pils and Dortmunders.

Pretty sure it's descended from Northern Brewer and unknown male from a hop lab in Germany. It's possible it's part Hallertauer, but it's equally possible is part some-other-hop. Germans used it as an aroma hop, but the US type has pretty good juice for a bittering hop.

Perle is my go to hop for my SNPA clone.  It is the bittering hop and it melds very well with Cascade.  I just ordered a lb of Perle pellets to keep me brewing!

I've generally seen it used for bittering, but aroma-wise I'd treat it like a noble hop. If you want to try it for late additions, I'd try it in something like an Alt, a Pils or maybe a Belgian Pale.

I really liked it as an aroma hop in my Alt. I know that's not to style, but it tastes great. Other than that, I used it with Crystal and Pacific Jade as a flameout addition in my Rye beer that I brewed this weekend. Airlock smells wonderful, but I will have to wait and see if that was a wise choice. I also think it melds well with Cascade, and works great as a bittering hop for my porters and stouts. Hope that helps!

Look on pages 36-37. Yes it is a Northen Brewer derivative. It does have a minty aroma in some beers.  I have used it in the past.  A local pub uses it in many of their beers, sometimes for bittering too.

US Perle on pages 24-25; says aroma hop as well.  Slightly spicy. 
I might not get crazy and just blend with Cascade.

I used it in a blonde ale with Saaz.  I like that combo.  I have heard the American variety has a minty character but the German is more citrusy, spicy, and nice bittering.  (Granted my blonde was not high in biterness units).

 ...apparently 3000 posts is the stupid number.
