Hanging Lines to Grow Hops
« on: March 11, 2012, 11:18:40 am »
Not sure what section this fits in, but I wanted to share a small project we did to grow hops.

Can't wait to see how they come up this season!

Wow...that's pretty cool. It must have been pretty scary climbing up those trees.

I hang twine from the second story soffit of my house and the hops grow about 15ft up on the twine. I tried it this for the first time last year with okay results. I'll try again this year. They love to grow up a string.

Thanks guys.  Yeah now that spring appears to be here in Maryland (buds are on the trees), I'm starting to water every morning!

If you don't get in over your head, how are you ever going to know how tall you are.

I started a "hop co-op" experiment with some friends at work and family.  We have five plants at the house and the rest are off site. They give the hops a place to grow, I harvest, they get to come over and drink the results. We'll see how it goes. This years crop.
