Sunleaves Oxystones Usage
« on: March 15, 2012, 10:17:25 am »
I am looking for a better oxygenation stone and found a 2" one made from Sunleaves.  As is was "Quality Manufactured in China" I am hesitant to put it in my beer.  So if anyone uses one of these and hasn't grown a third arm I'd like to know.

I don't know about those.  Not because of the China thing, but because there is not mention of the material.  You really want a stainless steel stone.  Stainless is going to be completely inert (300 series is typical) and all metal construction can be boil sanitized, which is a big plus and helps unclog it.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

I don't know about Sunleaves, but this is a good one: http://www.williamsbrewing.com/22-AERATION-WAND-P490C106.aspx

I've been using it for years without issue, and you can boil it.  The stainless wand makes it really easy to use.

+1 to this one. I have been using for about a year and works great. Also agree that the wand makes very easy to use.
