Hello all. I am looking for some help with a grain bill for a hoppy red ale. I want something nice and malty to hold up to the hops and am also using this opportunity to use some specialty grains that I haven't tried before. This is my starting point...any input would be greatly appreciated.
5 lbs 2-row
3 lbs maris otter
2 lbs melanoidin malt
2 lbs carared
as for the hops, I'm pretty much raiding the freezer and using what I already have on hand. I was thinking something like this...
1 oz. centennial @ 60 min
.75 oz. centennial @ 30 min
.25 oz. tettnang @ 5 min
.25 oz. saaz @ 5 min
