IPA for the wife (well, ok me too) going with some Columbus for the first time.

Schwarzbier or a Baltic Porter. Got some beautiful 2124 slurry that I racked a Pils off last night.
Pretty stuff

Any Pics??? :o

ROFL

I actually thought of taking a few last night when looking at it just prior to racking and then again when it was in the mason jars.

Ohhh.. I like CTZ!!  It's great for bitter, flavor and aroma although I usually use Magnum for the bitter & save the CTZ for flavor & aroma. Works well with the other C hops & Amarillo too!!!

Maybe I'll go a semi-SMASH route
Have about enough Halcyon left in a bucket to get the OG to 1.050 or so , bring it up to 1.070 with Canada Pale and go all Columbus to about 11

Finished brewing 5g of extract - organic dry stout.  House still smells like coffee... wonderful.

My house IPA is all Columbus and Centennial. I love Columbus/Zeus/Tomahawk!

Made a Best Bitter yesterday.  Racked a southern english brown during the boil and used the slurry (WLP022 essex ale).

I'll knock out the IPA during the week after work.

Nothing can ever go right .........right?
Wired up a 4500 watt 240 element in the keggle, works great!

Problem............. works too great at around 50% boil off after a test boil revealed that the thermocouple crapped out on me and no matter what the settings were all screwy. It was always FULL POWER.

All is well now, dont have a brew session in me right now.

Looks like it's just a WLP002 starter today and the ESB next weekend.

How long to reach full boil?  5 or 10 gallon batch size?  I'm going electric sometime this year and need data for element size decision.  Thanks.
