My wife's family is coming in fro the weekend so no brewing.  Dying eggs and smoking chickens will take up most of my time.  When I'm not at church, that is.

Where the heck are we going?  And what's with this hand basket?

I am hosting our first homebrew club group brew on Saturday.  We are going to brew what I would call an India Irish Red.  Totally looking forward to it!

Saturday maybe an Irish Red 10 gal batch or a pilsner 5 gal batch (only have room in lager chest for 5 gal) so if I go with 10 it will have to ferment in the basement in a swamp cooler.)

How do you get the feathers to stay in your pipe?  :P

Use a large bowled pipe and then tie them down with chicken wire.  Once you get the oil and the fat going it works pretty well.   ;D

I'm thinking I need an easy to drink beer like an ESB or a blonde before I start getting my oktoberfest going. I've been brewing some fairly regular beers so I might start getting into some more experimental beers soon.
Homebrewing isn't my obsession, it's my life calling, there's a difference.

The conical fermenter is filled with a Belgian Blond and the chest fermenter has a Bopils lagering so I will have to wait until next weekend to brew my house IPA.

Delivering recently received barrels from Balcones Distillery today, brewing an all-centennial IPA Friday afternoon, judging the Nebraska Shootout on Saturday, and then hanging with the family for Easter and watching the final round of the Masters :) Should be a busy, but a great weekend!

No brewing for me.....but yesterday I cleaned and sanitized 11 dirty kegs!  They date back to December....that was a major accomplishment.

I might take advantage of the roll I'm on, and go "jumper cable" the three lagers I have lagering right now into clean kegs, and clean those kegs, and then I will be completely ahead of the curve for once.
