Beer anxiety dreams
« on: April 10, 2012, 07:49:12 am »
Does anyone else have anxiety dreams about brewing flaws? I had a dream last night my IPA turned to cardboard. I've only made one seriously oxidized beer (old hops) but it was the worst beer I've ever had.

Yeah, I've had a few.  It usually happens in stretches where I've got a bunch of brews packed into a short schedule so I'm constantly doing brewing stuff before and after work in addition to brewing (making starters, cleaning kegs, transferring beer, etc)

I don't remember all the exact specifics from the last one but I was having a disastrous brew day where things kept going wrong and I couldn't get it back on track.

I have them about work from time to time. If I started having them about brewing then it would be time to quit.

I may sit up a little later than I might thinking about my next brew but I would call it excitement rather than anxiety. RDWHAHB!

Can't say that I've had any brewing nightmares, but there a first time for everything.

I dreamed I ran out of beer but I awoke and knew it wasn't true.

I fell asleep one night with a beer in my hand. It eventually tipped over in my lap and I thought it was a wet dream.

I doubt that will ever happen to me. Brew time is one of my "happy places", so I doubt I'll every associate any significant anxiety to it. Relax. Don't worry. Dream about homebrewing.  :)

Beer and brewing are both often in my dreams, but in a good way, no bad dreams.

Man, this was my reality a night or two ago.  I had a keg kick on Friday night, no big deal, got another one on tap.  Last night I go to pull a pint and got about an ounce of beer and then it kicked!  Aw man! I'm out of beer??  Crap...

I never run out of beer.  Sadly, I must admit, I have a drinking problem.  My problem is I brew too much and can't drink it fast enough!  (Horrible, I know!)  I often solicit help with my problem while at other times need to fill growlers just to free up a keg so I can brew more!

If you couldn't tell, I'm a pretty high-strung person to begin with, though I'm not usually stressed about beer. I'm working on a beer for my friend's wedding next month. The Brut I was making got infected (my first infection in like six years). I haven't given up on the Brut, but I'm scrambling to make a back-up, and kinda stressed about my brewing right now.

I dream about getting caught inside when a really big set rolls in, and take a 30' wall of water on the head.  Funny thing - I always end up dreaming I can breath underwater.

Must be that tri-wizard cup gillyweed beer I brew...  :o

My recurring dream is always I am in the middle of a public place and I have forgotten to wear pants. This is not a "no pants" weaze thing either, it's an actual dream I have over and over again. Probably need to pick up my Carl Jung again and figure that one out.

As far as brewing dreams go, it's the real life nightmares that really bother me. I'll spare ya'll the gory details.
