Always take a 7 year old running with you. They provide great excuses. ;)

Shoot. I've got a 6 yr old and an 8 yr old.  Not sure if they'll make me faster or slower.
My 12 year old is gonna run it with me.  But, that's more for my safety than anything.  Want someone along to call 911 for me.

My 12-year-old son and I went through the Order of the Arrow Ordeal this last weekend.  Man am I proud of my son!  Seems like I just saw him being born a few months ago.

Enjoy those hand-holdings while you can.  They go by soooo fast!

So after a 2 month hiatus from training while we tried to buy/sell houses, vacation and a bout with pneumonia, I'm proud to say I can run just as far as I could 3 month ago.
Run is in 35 days.  I am going to die.

Don't do it. Or walk it.

Do it.  Walk as much as you have to.

get beethoven's 5th. get a running app. get up and run. read "born to run".

i haven't run in three months and i started right in with 1.5 miles. i was tired and winded and my legs were sore, but i went back for more.  you have plenty of time to get up to a 5k(3.1 miles).  just run.  couch to 5k be damned.

if some people can/want to run super marathons through death valley in the dead of summer, we can run 3 miles just about any day we want.

you can do this!
cheers.

Depending how over weight you are, you probably can do it but be careful. A one month lead time from couch to 5K on an out of shape and over weight person could be dangerous.

but at least you can probably walk most of it, if you can get through a normal day. plenty of water and take your time.

Oh, I'll do it.  I'll be walking a lot I'm sure.  I'm pretty overweight (but I carry it well) and I'll be back training  again.  Before things fell apart I was up to about 15 mins run before I had to walk, now I'm back to about 5-8 minutes.  Hopefully I can get back to 15 before the run.  I figure I'll run 15, walk most of the rest and then save up my energy for the big sprint (where people can see me).  I have a friend about 1/2 way along the route and I may have to stash some homebrew there for inspiration too. :)
