Is the OP's recipe considered to be a good Timothy Taylor Landlord clone?
TTL is said to use Golden Promise as the base malt. It also is said to use Styrian and EKG for bittering, and Styrian Goldings for later addition. The big thing is to use the right yeast, which he did.

Styrian is definitely the source of the citrus note but I think of Styrian as more orange than grapefruit (but not quite as orange-forward as Amarillo) but I could see how people could pick grapefruit over orange as a descriptor.

I've read that some TTL clone versions omit the caramel and the roasted malt in favor of a two-hour boil.  Does anyone have any opinions as to which clone version is authentic or tastes better?

I get grapefruit from Styrian.  Definitely more than just "citrus."  Clearly grapefruit.

It could be variable by harvest, I suppose.  I had pounds of it but haven't used it in awhile.

+1 Golden Promise.

I made it a few times with 97% Golden Promise 2.5% Crystal 55 and .5% Black Patent, EKG & Styrian goldings for bitter, Styrian late addition.  And 1469 is the proper yeast.  I haven't had the beer before, so I cannot compare, but it was an amazingly complex beer considering the simple grist bill.  I also picked up stone fruit aplenty, mostly peach and a hint of cherry.

According to Graham Wheeler, it's 99.3% "Pale Malt" and .7% Black malt.

I made mine with no crystal as mentioned. Loved it and will always leave the crystal out for this one but I have never had a fresh original so I can't say if it tastes perfectly cloned or not.

What kind of IBU target should I be looking for in this recipe?

Thanks Jeff. Is it an ESB, is the OG target correct at 1.047? I have also never had the original or a clone, but the descriptions of it sound like something I would like to make, just trying to piece it together in Beersmith

I've brewed a version of it a few times. Great yeast, made nice beers.
