Make sure you put a fan in there to circulate the air around. Nice job!

Yup!  Got one of those ready to install, too!  Thanks!

Great build, I like it :)

Did you totally build the fridge into the thing, or can it be taken out easily?  I'm just thinking about when it comes time to defrost the freezer in there, it might be easier if you could take the fridge out.

Do you have enough air flow around the compressor?  It looks like there might be enough from the pics, but it's hard to tell.

The fridge is in there to stay.  Defrosting should not be a problem.

The back of the fridge is on the left side of the chamber and is completely open.  Should have plenty of ventilation.

What about when the fridge breaks? :)

It looked like it might be open, so that's good to know.  I might want to do something similar with a little dorm fridge I have.

When the fridge breaks I'll yank it out!  I can replace it with another one I've got in the basement collecting dust!  LOL!

There are a lot of threads online that show how to build fermentation chambers like this.  But, just keep this in mind.  If you don't have a lot of materials already on hand, the costs will add up to the point that it would be cheaper to buy a big refrigerator off of Craigslist.

;D Good plan!

I've got a bunch of scrap, but it doesn't have to be that pretty for me.  Just insulate it and be done.  Plus being able to take it apart and store it could be a good selling point.  But really, between the 4 fridges I currently have I should be able to figure it out :)

It's always good to be one step ahead of the game.  :)

I have a fridge almost the exact same size as yours that I'd like to build a chamber for...hmmm...

Stop by anytime to have a look, if you'd like.  Last night I hung the doors.  Tonight I'll seal any cracks and add weather stripping!  Then I'll plug it in!  Yay!

I cut the wood for my cabinet doors in the space between our 2 cars in our garage.  While I was still out there working on it, SWMBO had to drive our daughter to her dance lessons and was not pleased with all the saw dust covering her car, again.  I could tell by that all too familiar sour look on her face.  She turned on the windshield washers when she drove off and I had a good laugh!   ;)

Here it is!  All finished and plugged in!  Fits perfectly under my workbench!

Now all I need to do is to put some beer in it!  Woo hoo!
