What's Brewing This Weekend - 4/20 Edition
« on: April 18, 2012, 03:34:58 pm »
Last week, I brewed a split batch - an English Rye IPA and an American Rye IPA variant.

This week, it's my birthday, so I'm going to brew.. probably a split batch of Saison - what the variants will be, I haven't quite decided, but away we go!

Happy Birthday, Drew.

I'll be traveling to Philly this weekend, so no brewing related activities, although I'm sure beer will still be involved.

As a teacher, I have next week off (sorry), so I'm making Elderflower Sour Saison and an all Citra IPA. The Saison for my mom's 70th B-day party and the Citra for my brother-in-laws bachelor party. Don't ya just love celebrations (i.e. a reason to make more and more beer)?

I have a yeast cake of WY2000 Budvar yeast all ready to go.  I can't decide between a CAP, an Oktoberfest, or an Eggenberg UrBock clone.   Probably will go with the CAP.

The wife is going to be out of work for a while still. Hoping to convince her to let me brew up the IPA I've been waiting on for a while. She hated the smell of the last beer i brewed (Dunkelweizen) while it was brewing so it might be a tough sell. Too bad, because a massive dose of Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra and Chinook will smell pretty damn nice once its cooking up.

I haven't been able to brew for 4 weeks and I'm getting antsy...IPA sounds good since my Rye IPA keg should kick soon.

I'll be brewing my House IPA this weekend.  I've done a little tweaking with this recipe over the past few months and I think I've just about got it where I want it.

I've got an IPA to bottle and a whole lot of organizing to do.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Seems like everybody has a least one IPA this weekend  ;D

I'll be kegging my IPA and English Bitter, then moving into probably the house blonde.

It's Oktoberfest season!  Although I won't be getting to mine for another couple weeks.

I've got another batch of the ESB on deck for this weekend.  Hopefully.  My youngest started spewing at daycare today so if that catches on I may be out of business. Going to do up the starter tonight anyway in hopes that it gets done.

I need to move 10 gallons of BoPils into kegs for lagering, but that means I first need to rebuild done kegs. Hopefully I can squeeze in an ESB this weekend as well.

Happy birthday Drew!

After breaking my homemade stirplate again I brokedown and purchased one from B3 (deal of the day!).  So, I won't be brewing again until it arrives (ETA Monday).  In prep I will be reconditioning, recently aquired kegs and cleaning equipment.

BTW, Happy birfday Drew!

Happy Birthday Drew,

I'll be kegging the Hefeweizen.  And brewing a Dunkelweizen (reusing yeast).  And the house Pale Ale.  And tapping my experimental, Egyptian technique ale.  And bottling a keg of Barleywine.  Phew...

Bottling a Belgian Dubbel and Session Rye Stout and Barleywine. 10 gallons of each.

Brewing 10 gallons of Witbier split batch with Belgian Witbier yeast and Forbidden Fruit.

Also brewing 5 gallons of my yearly extract lambic.

Happy birthday Drew!
