Entered my first beer
« on: April 19, 2012, 10:12:15 am »
Well, I just entered my scottish 80/- in a local BJCP event. Very interested in the feedback. It was my very first all grain beer, but I think it's the best beer I've brewed to date. Used Jamils recipe, it fermented like a champ, and my numbers were where they should've been. I tried to find a commercial example but was unable to do so locally. I think it tastes good, but then I have no idea what a real 80 schilling should taste like.

Oh yeah, best in show wins an all expenses paid trip to SN beer camp.

Siciliano's?  Good luck!  I entered that last year and never got any feedback.  Bust.
I'm surprised Steve can't order any of that for you.  They've got everything else.

Odell Brewing and Summit Brewing both have  Scottish 90/- that is close enough.  I've had the Odells and its tasty.

I'm judging a contest on Saturday in St Louis, their BOS wins a Brewhemoth conical.

Yep. Dropped them off yesterday. They said you can pick them up at the store if you cant make the event, or they would mail them but only if you requested.

Ha!  Not unless they change the rules.  PLus I didn't enter any beers in the contest so that makes it slightly less likely than if I had.  Besides, one Brewhemoth is keeping me busy.

The wife pointed this out to me. Dropped off an entry on Tuesday.  SN Beer Camp is one heck of a prize.

Indeed it is. I'm just looking for some feedback, but someone will have a blast in Chico.

Good luck with your beer! I entered one contest and it gave me some good feedback on my pale ale. Hope you get some good feedback and a BOS medal and prize. It's addicting. I can't wait to enter my next contest.
