okay so is dextrose the same as priming sugar?
when in rome we shall do as the romans.  When in hell we'll take shots at the bar

Dextrose is corn sugar, so yes, it is.

i thought so i just had a guy who actually owned a micro brew in my town but its no longer there give me some notes on my first batch and he said right before you bottle add dextrose to the batch that will bring the flavors out and get rid of some sediment and i got confused because im pretty sure i put priming sugar in the batch

yep, dextrose is industry terminology for corn-derived sugar.  it is the most common sugar for bottle-conditioned/refermented priming homebrew.
