And just because it's summer and the pace of my work life is much saner, I zipped to the homebrew store yesterday afternoon, mashed last night while making dinner, brewed early today, and had the carboy filled with RyePA in time to get to church (me, not the beer). I would call it "Denny's" rye IPA except I cheated and used US05.

1408 just bottled (a scottish 70) 1408 is the tail number of the coast guard helicopter that my wife's uncle flew during the SF earthquake of 1989.  halfway through the boil of my oktoberfest.  yes, used the new electric kettle works great

Parti-gyle == NEVER AGAIN! OMG! What a long day. Other than my mash pH (thanks Martin!) everything else sucked. Efficiency was crap. Had to add DME to both beers. *UGH*
