I'm another fan of this yeast!

Just asked Wyeast via their website if it will return. I'll post when I hear something.

It's back.

Fantastic news. I emailed them over the summer and they didn't have a release date for it yet. I ended up building up a pitch off an old bottle of mine for a few brews this fall, but I think I'll take this opportunity to freshen up my stock.

My spring brewing schedule just got a bit more interesting. Looks like I will be replacing my ESB > Barleywine with a BSB (Belgian ESB) > Quad IPA.

I wish I would have waited a week. I have a dubbed in the primary and would have liked to have used this yeast.

Just got confirmation from Wyeast that 3864 is coming back in the first quarter of 2015. Guess I should use up that pack I've been hoarding since last winter...

Good ! Great strain. Needs to be a year round. I would add 3726 Saison (peppery and tasty) and 1217 West Coast IPA. I've emailed Dawson to give my votes on all three of those actually. Votes count at yeast companies, guys.

EDIT -  I use the 'Contact Us' tab to give my feedback on strains, usually to request that they keep a PC strain or make it a year round, it gets forwarded to Dawson (Brewing TV fame, now Wyeast brand manager) and he usually responds personally. Didn't mean to say I email him personally.   ;D

Unibroue yeast is easy to culture from a bottle. Just saying.

Yep, done it many times (along with many other Belgian strains). I just think it's deserving of a full time Wyeast slot.

No argument here. I have a starter going for tomorrow. One of my favorite yeasts.
