All other variables being the same, which is better for drying hops, a humid but hot garage (gets up to at least 100F during the day I guess) or a much less humid 77F inside my house?

I would go in the house. I leave mine out in a spot that gets no sunlight in a big collander.

I do mine in the house. Since you boil off the water & not the volatile oils, I think a low humidity, low temperature would be better.

Brown paper sacks work OK if you're pinched for space. You have to turn them every so often but eventually, you'll get there.

I've used the airfilters with cardboard boarder from home depot mounted on a box fan with duct tape and 4 soup cans to prop the fan off the floor to dry mine. Takes about 4-6 hours to dry. YMMV
