For all you beer geek tasters out there  ;) , what's a good infrared thermometer for checking the temp of the beer for serving?

I haven't used it for serving beer, but I got a cheap IR thermometer at Radio Shack years ago and its one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I have been using this for all kinds of things.

For a quick couple reading, it is awesome. It seems to be very accurate as long as you don't hold it for a long time (5+ minutes). I have used the laser to tease cats and after a while the readings seem to be high.

I got one from Harbor Freight but can't beat that $12.50 on amazon.

Don;t get too spendy and break the budget on this item if you're just serving beer. It's good for many things but don;t waste your time trying to read the mash! ;) I use mine mainly for checking AC vents and other surface temps like skillets and sauce pans these days.

When checking beer in the glass temp I whip out the trusty superfast thermapen, and have an accurate reading in seconds. This device I use for everything.
