So I took my DIPA to one of the local craft brewers here, and he absolutely loved it. Said IPA is his favorite style, and he'd never had one like mine. He liked it so well, he has asked me if I would brew it on his 1 bbl system! He will put it on tap, and sell it in his brewery! I am pretty effing stoked! Just had to brag, haven't been able to hold it in.  8)  ;D

Very cool, this is what happened to me a couple times.  And then, I decided to get my own license.  Be careful, it's addicting when you sit at that place, and watch folks pay real money for your beer.

A local pub over here in England asked if I would brew a pin (5 gal) for their Beerfest back in June. It never cleared in time for the fest but once it did, it went on the bar. People asked for seconds, that's what worked for me. It was a basic bitter brewed with pilsner that I found faults with but nobody else did. That felt pretty good.

Update!:  My DIPA won a gold medal at the Colorado State Fair this weekend! Not as prestigious as winning in the NHC, but my first medal, and I'm pretty happy. Also, just brewed this beer at Great Storm Brewery in Colorado Springs, and it should be ready for the Octoberfest party there on September 22! So anyone in the area want to come by and try it...

Congrats, I understand the state fairs are pretty competitive.  Sounds like you have a winner of a recipe!

Awesome!  I'll have to make my way down to the Springs that weekend and try it.

Good on ya.  A friend/beginning homebrewer got a Silver for his Rauch in his first competition.
Were you there for the awards?

Unfortunately, I had family obligations and didn't make it. And congrats to your friend!

And thanks all for all the well wishes. I have to say, this was my first attempt at an IPA. Never brewed one before. I owe some thanks to Zymurgy magazine. One of the recent issues centered on hops, and I developed my recipe using some of the info in there!
