Help me out please.  I have just started harvesting my yeast.

If I have an unwashed slurry in a 1 qt jar that is say more than 2 wks old, but not more than 3 months old.  I want to make a starter.

My question is, when I make my starter, how much of the unwashed slurry do I add to the cooled starter wort?

Ale starter size of 1 ltr of 1.035 wort

Lager starter of 2 ltr of 1.035 wort

Go to www.mrmalty.com and select the pitching rate calculator, then select your settings for qts/gal or liters etc, the type of beer you're going to make, original gravity, batch size and at the bottom select "slurry".  I'm not sure what you'd put for a date on the slurry but as you move your mouse over some of the selections it gives you information to help you.
