That's sweet!  Although, rumors are that the new iPhone will have a different connector (which will piss a lot of people off).  I'm holding off on all new iToys until then!

that is cool and the interesting point is that it is operable in large temperature range, for all of those recent discussions on mash versus room temp.

how much is this thing though?

About $280 on amazon with the accessory and probe

http://www.amazon.com/Sensorex-Accessory-Includes-Reference-Electrode/dp/B008AXSCJK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344617974&sr=8-1&keywords=sensorex+ph-1

ehhh, that is no good, considering that other pH meters that are rock solid can be purchased for a hundred bucks or less....

I'd like it better if the probe were on a cord. I have no desire to hold a $600 smartphone over a steamy wet mash.

Pretty cool concept but way to steep for my shop, not to mention the obsolescence risk. I suppose you could just keep an old iphone to use as a brewery tool iTouch if you upgraded to a new model iphone that was no longer compatible with the meter.

It's neat if you want to integrate the reading into other software, but the display function is by far the cheapest part of a pH meter. The probe, the amplifier and the ADC is what determines the price for the low end pH meters. Thus the phone adapter option won't be cheaper than a complete unit.

again, to follow on with the other thread would be the temperature range the probe is solid for.
