I actually love the weather is Seattle. If I didn't have roots here I would consider moving there.

The Pacific Northwest is my favorite part of the country, but I've never actually been there in the winter.  It's almost always nice when we're there (June, August, September).  Long days, cool temps.....

I love the winter here.  Seldom snows or gets too cold (not that it doesn't ever do either).  I've even developed a fondness for the rain in the winter.  Perfect for having a beer and reading a book!  Summer goes from July through Sept. and it's so beautiful it makes up for the winters.

+1 on loving the rain.  No rain - no rainforest.

Very true. But it can be 50s in San Francisco, 70+ in Oakland, 90+ in Silicon Valley, and 100+ in the Central Valley. Makes for an interesting drive on the way back from Yosemite to SF.

I used to live in oakland and go into SF on a regular basis and it was always a shock. I would leave my house and worry that I was gonna be to warm in long pants and a t-shirt but by the time I got to SF and out of BART I would be freezing. Then I would walk up over the spine of the city and be bakeing again.

Now I live in the very northern part of the central valley, up near sacto and it hits 100-110 more often than not in summer. Then it drops down to ~50 at night. you should hear the asphalt roof creak as it cools at night. During the winter here it even freezes a couple times a year. no snow yet, not since I lived up in the hills.

Amen brother.
Something upwind is burning down.

Looking forward to fall, harvest, football, senescent foliage, burning wood, wearing longunderoos,
and the time to enjoy ambient fermentation temps.

I just raised the thermostat to 84*. Maybe I'll be below $200 for august-september. Not that bad with the ceiling-fans and the AC kicking on periodically.

Since it's so tropical we'll be doing gin and tonics tomorrow evening. To stave of off the malaria... purely for health reasonns.
