The hefeweizen is fermenting away great.  Nice, subdued banana aroma, should be drinking it in a couple of weeks.  Thinking about sending a bottle Denny's way. ;)

I definitely want to try some of that Jim.

It was 60 degrees all week, and now we have a foot of snow!  I've been making stouts and porters all winter, time for a lighter offering.  I'm basing my beer off of Charlie P's "Bohemian Thriller", except with some bicuit malt, and it's going to be an ale (Pac-man ale yeast).  Should be a good lawn-mower beer (except I don't drink while mowing the lawn...).

My batch of Kim and Bob's Amarillo Pale Ale is in fermenters, clean up is done, and I am pooped.

My co-brewer is sick today.

wow, what a hell of a brewday.  48gal of beer brewed in my driveway.  no issues with my 2 brews, but my friend crushed his grain at my house and I use a tighter crush than he does, so his oatmeal stout (combined with the oatmeal, likely) got a stuck mash which ran off slowly for 2 hours.  then I let him use my chilling system/aparatus, and his pellet hops clogged up my therminator taking 1.5 hours or so to get the beer into the fermentor (thankfully, we knocked it down to 120-130 with a IC first).

Started at 6am and finished at 9PM thanks to the above issues.  note to self: back to back brew days with 2 other systems present is not advisable!

I've spent the better part of sunday trying to get my therminator flushed and unclogged - pellet gunk and particulate are STILL coming out after several hours of soaking and flushing

On a more positive note, I thought the simcoe/citra combination smelled outstanding in the kettle - me and a few buddies were standing 10-15 feet away from the kettle while it was chilling and were remarking on how strong and pleasant the tropical fruity/dank smell was even from where we stood!

Wow Paul...that's a big brewday but fun I'm sure.

I had to postpone my brewday until tomorrow. I'm taking the day off to brew my RIS.

It should be a good one.

::) gettin up sat at 5:45 was a bit tough, but then I remembered I was going downstairs to brew, and not to work, and suddenly I perked up a bit more.

went into the garage this morning on my way out, and opened the door to the muffled cacophany of clicking airlocks.  Always a lovely sound  ;D

Can't believe how long its been since I have brewed.  Squandered the "brewing season" of cold ground water and cool ambient house temperatures, didn't brew since last fall!  This may be my first time posting in one of these threads!

I brewed a very simple pils...10lbs of domestic pilsner malt, mashed about 151deg, then a 60 min boil with 3ml of "HopShot".  Chilled it to 60 degrees, pitched two packets of S-23, and stuck it in the fermentor fridge at 50 degrees.  I know, better noble hops (noble finishing hops, too), a longer boil, better yeast, etc., might have made for a better beer, but I've done it this way before, except with an oz of Saaz for flavor, and liked it.  Sadly, no saaz on hand.

Also saw an English ale yeast was expiring, so I dumped it into 5 gal of apple juice.  Cider is certainly easy (when you aren't crushing and pressing your own apples).
