Here in SE Michigan it was cloudy all day and windy. They are talking about 35 ft waves on the shallow parts of the Great Lakes.

Edit - power has not blinked. No problem with too much water here.

Here in New York it's rocking my building (I live on the 6th floor and feel the building move around) and there is a foot of water running through the streets just a few blocks away! The lights are flickering, the window glass is bending...

It's blowing like hell here and raining buckets but that's all so far.  Power is still on for the moment.  If this is the worst of it we'll be fine.  Fingers crossed.

Power has been out since about 5pm. Doesn't seem like it was as bad as Irene as far as wind and damage goes. Hopefully that means power comes back soon. Not looking forward to the cold shower in the morning.

The wind is gusting and rain is steady as the eye of the storm has just passed over us. All is well... Fingers crossed. The east side of the storm will hit us next. Plenty of supplies and beer, so we're prepared as we can be.

How this doesn't hamper production of Boston Lager!

It was windy up in NH but not a ton of rain that I could tell.  Lost power for about 26 hours, but we tend to lose power if a gnat farts in Montana.

Glad to see people weathering the storm.  Next summer's project...standby generator for the house.  I'm sick of hauling the portable generator out into the storms, and filling the thing every 12 hours.

Cable/Phone/Internet is still out though.  No big deal...baseball is over, the Pats have a bye week, and the NHL is locked out...what is there to watch anyways...the NBA ::)?

We got our power back after about 24 hours ourselves. I'm with you on the generator thing. We've lost power for an extended period of time at least once each of the 3 years we've lived in this house. I have a 1000 watt generator that is just enough for the fridge and freezer. It sucks not having heat or water. I can't even light my fireplace since it has an electronic ignition.

No love for the Celtics?  :D

I'll root for them, but I am not a basketball fan.
