We've discussed him brewing. He's a foodie but he's really not interested. I may just show up there though with a pot and a bucket when it cools down more.

If he's a foodie, find out when he's cooking something good and show up for a free meal.  Ask for a doggie bag.

Now I do sometimes like this one liter stein. But it's my beer!

I kind of wish I had your problem sometimes bc what limits my brewing is having cases full of beer and no room to put anymore and noone to consume it at times.

Another thing that get me going is having a friend ask me to make a beer that is like (fill in the blank) and I tell them I can make something to the style and they say go ahead. They only drink one and say it doesn't taste like (fill in the blank) and leave me with 5 gallons if their grand idea.

Maybe hide the kegs in the kitchen. Is that a table in the picture?

Oh- gmac that is mah belly!

I think there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. This xmas my friend is getting a present consisting of a beginners setup and extract kit. There is an excess of bottles at my house so will have plenty of them to give him to get started with a 5 gallon batch.

How does that sound?

He'll probably out-do me if the bug catches!

That is a good solution to the situation.

YES! He can start making his own, what a great solution. At the very least he can really see first hand the work and time involved in making the corny's that he takes down.

I dunno.  I enjoy sharing my beer.  I also typically have a couple kegs waiting to be tapped, so if one goes empty I can roll out another.  I have drawn the line at growlers to go, however.

I can completely see this becoming a great situation. Your friend learns to brew, you guys swap tips and tricks, everyone gets better. Fast forward a couple of years and you guys have your own brewery and are laughing about the days when he received a kit in an attempt to curb his consumption of your beer, lol.

You never know - one day he might even read this thread!

Bring it on!

Not sure when our next gathering will be, but Halloween was pitchers of vanilla porter and Bavarian wheat beer (not mixed).  I did not hand out any go cups to adult trick-or-treaters, but the small crowd in the house went through a few pitchers.  And we blew the keg of wheat.  So I tapped the next one, but it was not cold.

My problem is "cold storage" is at maybe 55 degrees.  The wine is too cold and the beer is too warm.
