Priming cider bottles?
« on: November 21, 2012, 02:29:19 am »
my question i'm finally going to bottle my cider, i was wondering if priming with maple syrup/brown sugar would add any flavor?
Should I jut use normal priming sugar and CO2 tablets?
“Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drank, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, “It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.

I've primed with cider with priming sugar, maple syrup, and apple juice concentrate. All work. Maple syrup adds a tiny bit of flavor, but probably isn't worth it if that is the only thing contributing maple flavor.

One certainly could use apple juice.

I've used cane sugar in the past and it works great.
