Blichmann beer gun stopper issue
« on: January 01, 2013, 11:02:28 pm »
I just used my beer gun for the first time.  Four times, as I set the gun into a sterilized pitcher to arrange bottles, the rubber stopper at the tip came off.  It was assembled correctly, inserting the tip through the slot in the stopper.  Any ideas?  I lost a lot of beer and worry about losing the stopper in a bottle.  Is there an adhesive that would be safe to use?

Inspect the stopper closely.  Is it torn?

That happened to me.  Just replaced it.  Brand new it should be good though.

When I first got my beer gun, my stopper came off a few times as well.  Like you, I was concerned about losing it, so I quickly ordered two replacements.  Three years later, the two replacements are still in my accessary drawer.  (but somehow I feel better, knowing they are there)  I don't know why it stopped falling off, but it did.  Although it's so small, I do fear losing it when I disasemble for cleaning.

It has happened to me a couple times, too.  I have to remember not to bump it at all.
Finding it in the bottom of a beer bottle sucks.

I had the same issue. I put a miniscule bend on the tab the stopper fits on and it hasn't happened since.

Water is so much better when it's mixed with barley, hops, and yeast.
