Leipzig/Dresden beers
« on: January 22, 2013, 01:08:23 pm »
I'm traveling to Germany with work next week and will be able to take a short side trip to Leipzig & Dresden. Maybe a day in Leipzig and a couple days in Dresden.  Besides trying a Gose in Leipzig, are there any can't miss beers I should go out of my way to try while I'm in those cities?

Only Gose comes to mind for Leipzig. The town is not really known for a diverse beer culture like Munich.

The brewpubs I went to in Dresden were all very nice and had fine beer.  Nothing amazing or anything, but friendly enough and good enough beer.  You owe it to yourself to find this place for the story though - it's somewhere on a public transportation line between the Max Planck Institute and the old part of the city:

I'll keep an eye out for that one Tom.  Unfortunately, I've made a homebrew or two in my day that could be appropriately served there!  ;D
