I'm still brewing in my kitchen and my house has an open concept, so I've got the TV on most of the time.  However, with a 3-year-old daughter, that usually means that Dora, Bubble Guppies (they've got some catchy tunes!), Octonauts, and Doc McStuffins is on.

cleaning out my DVR of stuff the wife won't watch with with me.

You can DVR porn?

For me, podcasts.  Sometimes Brewing Network although they usually just make me angry.  Often Neil deGrasse Tyson's StarTalk Radio or maybe an Adam Carolla podcast.  Not usually music.

Classic Rock....Pink Floyd, Led Zep, The Beatles, The Who......My classic rock has no boundaries...Pearl Jam, Metallica, Buddy Holly....It's all great!

I'm a huge NPR fan, so it's often that these days.  But when I'm in the mood for music, I'm right there with you on the old fart stuff...marathons of Procol Harum's 13 albums, , Steely Dan, the Fabs, and the first three or four Jethro Tull albums.

To mix things up though, sometimes I'll tune into Princeton University's FM station for an eclectic taste of more contemporary fare.  I've discovered some great new stuff there.

Contemporary jazz, or classic rock.  I can't listen to books or podcasts while focusing on getting my brewday right

NPR if its a Saturday morning.  Umphrey's McGee, Primus or Led Zepplin. Brewing podcasts ate definitely too distracting on brew day.  Sometimes a college game in the background.

Another vote for NPR, although (don't be too harsh...) since I usually brew in the kitchen, where we have a small TV, I sometimes watch a Lifetime or Hallmark movie... the weepier the better.

It kind of depends but it is usually one of the two....

1. NPR
2. Roots Reggae (Bob Marley, Burning Spear, etc.)/New Roots Reggae (John Brown's Body, SOJA, etc.)

I like to keep it mellow when brewing.  If I start listening to Norwegian Death Metal, then I get too worked up/drinking too much, and start missing stuff. ha.
