If I had shoots like that I'd be hooting and hollering!  I do finally have three different types up, one each of Sterling, Golding and Centennial... but they're "just" poking through now, less than a quarter of an inch.  Just enough to identify them as hop shoots really.  I'm hoping for the rest to poke through soon.

My Fuggles are looking about the same. We must have a similar climate right about now.

All of mine are now up, some of them are 6-8" tall already.  I have 24 Cascades and 2 Nuggets.  I've restrung the trellis and I think we're done with freezes down here so they should take off fast now.

Had a problem last year with my Magnums and Cascades tangling, as well as the Cascades growing into the air conditioner.  So since I was trying to squeeze a little too much out of a small space, I got rid of the Magnum and moved the cascades.  Possibly a bit early here now, but we'll see in a week or two.

Supposed to be 70's for the majority of this week, which should only help.

All mind (2 each cascade, Willamate, Goldings, simcoe, tettnager, and fuggles) were about 6-8 inches yesterday.

I say "were" as I am following the advice in that hop garening book to cut the first shoots down to the ground, wait for the second set, and only allow 2-3 of those to grow to maturity.  This is my third year with all these.

I've got 17 plants again this year if they all come up and I'll take cuttings off them next year so I can plant more.  Its not that I can use them all but they look really nice once they've filled out.  They make a great hedge that you don't have to tend too much.   :)  I wouldn't mind having a hundred of them.   8)
