Recipe Suggestion
« on: March 28, 2013, 02:00:39 pm »
Making a batch for the lady of the house who happens to like Henry's Blonde. I think it is a lager, but I am looking for an extract ale recipe that might come close. Google has returned precious little except that the hops may be Cascade. I am fairly new to brewing, so I could use some help creating a recipe. I have been looking at Blonde Ale recipes for ideas. Would appreciate any suggestions. Normally I would not be interested in cloning Henry's but after all, she's the one who bought me my brewing kit and got me started.  :)

Keep it simple.

6 lb extra pale DME
maybe a touch of light crystal/cara
little bit of a neutral bittering hop @ 60 minutes (magnum, bravo, anything high alpha, but only like 10 IBU worth
.5-1 oz of cascade at flame out

1 packet of us-05 rehydrated. beauty.

Here's the recipe and procedure for Bleach Blonde Ale, partial mash that I made when I was doing extract batches.  It went over quite well.  I've since adapted the recipe several times for all grain (it's a "house beer").
