S'more Porter?
« on: April 28, 2013, 09:49:22 am »
So i made a visit to new Belgium a few months back and the wife had Lips of faith- Lindsy's S'mores porter. She has been at me to brew this up. Any suggestions? I figured that i would just brew up a Baltic or Robust porter and maybe mash with a little Gram cracker and possibly use some Marshmallow flavoring?

I made a s'more stout once. Mashed the marshmallows and graham crackers, and added chocolate to bk. the beer had a weird flavor, probably from graham crackers.

I would make sure you bump up the chocolate malt in your grain bill and the marshmellow extract sounds like it would work

One thing that I was thinking about doing was adding a lb or two of meadowfoam honey to my porter. Meadowfoam has a kind of marshmellowy taste to it. Then you could use MO or biscuit malt to provide the graham cracker flavor, and some coca nibs.
