Maybe he is trying to be a Beer Mentat...

It is by beer alone I set my mind in motion. It is by malting barley the grain acquires sugar, the boil kettles acquire wort, the wort becomes an elixir. It is by beer alone I set my mind in motion.

Of course the eye brows might be a problem in the brew house.

It was a nice day and my little brew garage gets pretty warm with 6 gallons of liquid boiling.

I've always imagined Denny brewing (and most often existing) in a utilikilt.

Despite your fantasy I usually don't even wear shorts when brewing in warm weather.  I'm extremely clumsy and I've hurt myself way too many times.  I always wear long pants and closed shoes when I brew.  After the boil, when it's down to chilling, xfer, and cleanup, I'll put on shorts and Tevas if it's a warm day.

OK, I was completely unaware of the Utiliklit...Thanks Amazon! My wife may be ashamed and the neighbors may complain, but wow!, there may be one of those in my future.

Although I do have to agree that I, too typically wear pants when brewing...

Like Denny I always go with long pants and closed shoes, at least until the boil is done.  I need to be careful to wear enough clothes for the outside temp.  This spring I came down with a good cold a day after brewing, i think because it was pretty chilly outside and I was running around too much in a t-shirt and later in the day with damp shoes.

When I brew (normally a weekend) I love to wear old clothes I have no fear about tearing, staining or wearing out.

But they didn't have zippers.  The invention of the zipper negates the need for the skirt.

Access is maintained and the fellas stay warmer.  Good all around.

Plus, I don't have to worry about any of my guests dragging their junk along my sofa.  At least, I don't think I have to worry about that.
